Our mission is to set the standard of professional excellence in how horses and humans can communicate, bond and work in unison to transform the quality of life and mental health of individuals, families and groups. The horse, with its heightened instinctive intelligence, is the central teacher and head of our family of human growth programs. At Belvoir, the Equine Facilitated Human Development Programs are enhanced by three nature-based activities:
History of Belvoir Estate Farm
Surrounded by the Thames River, Belvoir is said to be the oldest farm in South Western Ontario, Canada and is nestled on more than 316 acres.......
Equine Facilitated Human Development
The horse is the central figure for all human development work at Belvoir. Twelve hundred pounds of power and beauty in motion, the horse is over ten times the size of an average human being. And yet, there is a strong emotional and curative bond between us. This powerful animal has stunning capacity to mirror human emotions and facilitate human healing. That is why the horse can be our most gifted teacher.
Archery is one of the oldest arts still practiced, from the Stone Age to the Egyptians to the Chinese to Japanese martial arts and summer camps. As part of the Belvoir mix, archery’s unique power is measured in high speed and accuracy, generated by the force of the arrow as it springs from our bow and speeds toward the target.
Nature Based Learning
